Real Weddings: Gorba – Brumbaugh Wedding

I had the absolute pleasure and privilege of designing a custom wedding invitation suite for Lydia Gorba, now Mrs. Brumbaugh and I just love the final result. Lydia and Matt were engaged and planning their wedding during such an unprecedented time but they managed to pull it off on a beautiful fall day in September, socially distanced and all. Lydia was such a fun bride to collaborate with and I’m so glad I was able to work with her. I received a call from her in the middle of Monday in June, a warm summer day, quiet COVID season, at that time, activity, events, and people were treading very lightly, and summer was quite frankly fairly quiet. I picked up the line and she asked for custom options for her wedding invitations. She was so easy to chat with, we were on the phone for about 15 minutes and the rest – well is a beautiful history.

It’s so fun doing custom design work for couples because I get a chance to know them personally and professionally. I was able to cast the right vision for her wedding day seamlessly and virtually, through phone calls, and her own dedicated portal we collaborated together on ideas and feedback to create her suite.

What made you decide to hire a stationer versus doing wedding invitations yourself?

Too busy to do them myself and also just wanted some peace of mind that someone – other than me – was handling it.

What was your favorite part of the design process?

Discussing my vision with you. You really listened and turned my (super rough, vague) vision into a beautiful piece of art.

I shopped/called around a bit and just wasn’t feeling any connection with the other vendors.

You showed real interest and was very reassuring, which is what I needed – and probably what most brides need.

I needed someone to say I got this, you go do x, y, z and that’s what Ruby provided. I immediately trusted her and my trust was not misplaced.
